SOUNDVIEW - The woman who found a dog tied up in an apartment building spoke exclusively with News 12 today.

Michelle Brooks found Snoopy injured and tied up in the elevator of her Taylor Avenue building. Brooks says the dog's owner, who is her neighbor, should be put behind bars for the abuse.

A local animal rescue group, who took Snoopy after Brooks' called, says the dog has bruises and scars all over his body. It also appears he's been kicked multiple times by his owners.

John Henry, the man believed to be the husband or the boyfriend of Snoopy's owner, says neither he nor the owner ever abused the dog. Henry says someone stole the dog and they couldn't find him.

The ASPCA says the investigation into what happened to Snoopy is continuing. An official says Snoopy is doing well in a foster home and is expected to be adopted in a couple of days.
