Woodlawn Cemetery, burying ground for many jazz legends, to expand
WOODLAWN - Woodlawn Cemetery, famous for housing jazz legends like Duke Ellington and Miles Davis, is developing five more acres to accommodate more burials.
The cemetery cremates 2,500 people a year and buries about 1,000.
Five new buildings, including at least one new mausoleum, are also slated for construction.
