THE BRONX - Workers for Woodlawn Cemetery are speaking to management officials in an effort to save their jobs.

The union, Teamsters Local 808, says management wants to cut 23 of the 38 groundskeepers, gardeners and other maintenance people. Workers say the management company is attempting to replace them with outsourced personnel.

Management says outsourcing landscaping operations will allow the company to save $731,000 per year.

Current employees say they are willing to negotiate future pay raises to keep their jobs.
