THE BRONX - An annual survey shows that Americans may be spending a little less this holiday season.

According to the American Research Group's 29th annual report, shoppers plan to shell out an average of $801 on gifts this year, which is down from an average of $854 last year.

The most money consumers planned to spend was back in 2001 when the average amount of holiday spending was $1,052.

Most Bronx residents told News 12 they're on a budget and won't be hitting the $1,000 mark.
