A City Council committee hearing held Wednesday on proposed government-issued ID cards for undocumented immigrants is causing some debate.

The municipal identification cards would be available to all New Yorkers, regardless of immigration status. Mayor Bill de Blasio strongly supports the idea, but Police Commissioner Bill Bratton is worried about its implementation.
