THE BRONX - It's National Hot Dog Day, honoring an American ballpark staple.

New York plays its own special role in hot dog history. Brooklyn is home to Nathan's Famous in Coney Island and its annual Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Many Bronx residents have strong opinions about the toppings they put on their hot dog, whether its mustard, sauerkraut, relish or even bacon.
