THE BRONX - When a couple has a baby, it's often the norm for the mother to take maternity leave from work.

However, in countries like Sweden, it's also the norm for the dad to take some time off.

News 12 asked residents whether father's deserve paternity leave.

Some Bronx residents said paternity leave would become a financial burden on some families if both parents didn’t work.

Others said two parents shouldn't be home at the same time.

Geneva, from Soundview, said fathers should stay home and take care of both the mother and baby.
