Word on the Street: Study says handwriting notes is more effective than typing

Two professors found that long hand notes helped people retain information better. (3/31/14)

THE BRONX - A new study suggests that students in classrooms should take notes the old fashioned way. 

Two professors, one from Princeton University and the other from UCLA, had two groups of students take notes for an exam: one group using a paper and pen, and the other typing on a laptop. 

The professors found that while laptop users took almost twice the amount of notes, they scored significantly lower in the conceptual part of the test.
