THE BRONX - Calorie counting is expanding to about five million vending machines around the country.
Calorie information will soon be displayed on vending machines as part of President Barack Obama's new health care overhaul, affecting nearly 11,000 companies.
The FDA says it will help consumers make healthier snack choices, but those choices could come at a price for some. It's estimated to cost vending machine companies $25.8 million upfront, and $24 million the following years.
