Workshop aims to keep BX kids out of gangs

THE BRONX - Members of the Victory Baptist Church on Prospect Avenue held a gang awareness workshop for young Bronx kids today.

The workshop's goals were to educate the children at a young age that there are alternatives to joining a gang and that education is one of the keys to staying gang-free.

Members say that if they can keep just one kid from joining a gang, they?ll consider the program a success.

Church members say that while this workshop was the first one they have held, they plan on holding more workshops in the future.
