Yankees celebrate women in sports

THE BRONX - Olympic and professional athletes gathered at Yankee Stadium Monday to celebrate Daughter's Day.

The event is held for girls and women who are interested in sports and fitness. It also celebrates the significance of women helping other women in the field of sports.

Former WNBA player Kym Hampton sang the national anthem before the baseball game, while Olympic figure skater Sarah Hughes threw out the first pitch.
