A young girl was struck by a car Saturday evening while walking on Creston Avenue, near East 184th Street.

Police say the incident occurred at around 5 p.m.

A witness told News 12 that a woman in a nearby salon screamed and everyone in the area went outside to see what had happened. The witness says the authorities arrived shortly after the driver fled.
