THE BRONX - The latest round of city budget cuts is endangering the future of local zoo exhibits.

The Bronx Zoo is at risk of losing 58 percent of its funding if Mayor Michael Bloomberg's proposed budget plan goes through. Officials say they've released an ad and letter campaign in an effort to get City Hall to put a stop to the cutbacks.

A vote on the budget is expected to take place July 1.
