HIGHBRIDGE - Dozens of preschoolers got their hands dirty for Earth Day and helped beautify a garden in Highbridge.

The students from the Highbridge Advisory Council Headstart Program helped clean up garbage at the Bronx Stadium Gardens and then planted flowers.

The garden itself used to be a garbage dump, until the 161st Street Business Improvement District helped turn it into a community garden three years ago.

The students also made hats out of recycled materials.
