THE BRONX - Bronx residents lined up today at shops all over the borough to exchange Christmas gifts they did not like.
"It's the thought that counts, but everything doesn't fit so I'm just returning a couple of things," said Guyshana Alston.
There were also plenty of customers trying to take advantage of the post holiday sales.
Retail sales in the two months before Christmas only increased 0.7 percent compared with last year, according to a report from MasterCard.
That was below the healthy 3 to 4 percent growth that analysts had expected. It was the worst year-over-year performance since 2008.
