RIVERDALE - Heavy winds and horizontal snow made their way to the borough, with Riverdale taking a hard hit.

Cars went skidding and pedestrians slipped on sidewalks as accumulations quickly built up.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg urged all New Yorkers to remain indoors and off the roads.
