THE BRONX - Residents throughout the Bronx looking for safer roads may soon get their wish.

The Department of Transportation is looking at making several roadways in the Bronx slow zones. Designated slow zones call for a decrease in speed limit and the addition of speed bumps.

Community Board 11 member Anthony Vitaliano says adding slow zones is a no-brainer. Vitaliano and other board members would like to see slow zones added to the area between Pelham Parkway and Eastchester Road and to Stillwell Avenue to East Gun Hill Road. The board also wants them placed up and down Mace Avenue.

The DOT will review all of the suggestions made by Community Board 11 and then make its final decision.
