Witnesses: Storm causes tree to crash onto car

A tree crashed onto a parked car in front of a senior citizen home on Boston Road Monday evening, according to witnesses.

One witness says she saw the tree fall onto the car around 5:30 p.m. She says the incident happened during a period of heavy rain with whirling winds.

Others who witnessed the incident say no one was in the car at the time when the tree fell onto it.

A total of 142 trees came down as a result of Monday's storm, five of which were in the Bronx, according to the Parks Department.
