2 injured after woman falls on subway tracks in the Bronx

Two people were injured after falling on MTA tracks and getting shocked at a Bronx station Tuesday, according to MTA officials.

It happened at the East Gun Hill Road station around 10:47 a.m. Emergency officials say a woman fell onto the 2 and 5 tracks, and another man jumped down to aid her.

They say the woman landed on the electrified track and suffered a heart attack.

She was transported to Montefiore Medical Center and treated for cardiac arrest.

The man who helped her suffered only minor injuries.
