Family asks hit-and-run driver to turn self in
A Throgs Neck family is renewing its call for whoever is responsible for a fatal hit-and-run crash to come forward.
The incident left Giovanni Nin, 26, dead at the corner of East Tremont and Mayflower avenues more than a month ago.
Police say Nin was riding a bicycle to his girlfriend's home during a 1 a.m. break from his Saturday double shift at work when a silver BMW SUV killed him and fled the scene.
Family members say they suspect that someone in the area has details about the incident because posters placed near the intersection asking for information were torn down.
