‘Pokemon Go’ gives kids new reason to play outside

The 'Pokemon Go' app is giving children another reason to play outside, and a staff member at St. Mary's Park Recreational Center is hoping to incorporate exercise into the game.

The app requires players to physically walk to various locations to obtain in-game characters, which is what makes the so-called "Pokefit" program possible.

Children can meet up at the park and play and walk together.

The program runs from 1 to 4 p.m. daily until Friday.
