News 12 cameras got a close up look at the aftermath of Tuesday's deadly Kingsbridge house explosion.

Officials say they found a drug operation with pot plants inside the home on West 234 Street before the explosion.

According to officials, marijuana plants were everywhere, some as large as small trees. They say insulation was found around the windows, and flammable gas and propane tanks were found inside. 

Lamps used to keep the plants heated were also found, officials say.

The blast killed an FDNY battalion chief and injured 20 other people.

Chief Michael Fahy, a father of three, died after flying debris struck him in the head. The 17-year veteran was responding to a report of a gas leak at 300 West 234th Street near the corner of Tibbett Avenue.

Con Edison officials say they can't access the site because it's still a crime scene. Many neighbors don't have heat or hot water so they can't cook or shower. Some can't even take their cars out.

Residents say they were told things will likely be back to normal by Saturday.
