Technology experts are warning parents of popular apps that may put their kids in danger.
Meow Chat has been promoted as a chat room to meet new friends around the world, but has also been known to contain racy and explicit photos.
Experts say awareness and communication are key.
Parents can also ask their mobile provider for the phone's chat log to see who their kids are speaking with.
Technology experts also say even though an app can be suggested for people 17 years and older there is often no age verification process.
Some of the apps experts say to look out for are Tinder, Whisper, Kik and Meow Chat.
