A mother and her son were found fatally shot in a Fulton Avenue apartment in Claremont on Saturday evening.

Officials say that 27-year-old Tyrell Bell and 50-year-old Sharon Epps were found shot in the head at a building located at 1763 Fulton Ave.

The building's security guard told News 12 that a man came out of the building screaming that his wife was dead.

Fire officials say they initially responded to reports of a possible gas leak and also someone in cardiac arrest, but when officials got to the scene, they found the bodies. 

Police say they are speaking with the woman's husband.

Residents in the apartment building say that Epps' husband, who was Bell's step-father, would argue often with Bell.
