Bronx dry cleaners closes after nearly 40 years
After being in business for nearly 40 years, a Soundview dry cleaners was forced to close its doors.
The owner says she was forced out by her landlord.
Ramy Salcedo owned San Juan Cleaners on East 174th Street and says she is heartbroken to leave her longtime business.
"This is my life," says Salcedo.
Salcedo says her landlord made her move from her original location four years ago with the promise of a new lease. But that new lease never came and she was forced to go month to month. After a long legal battle, Salcedo had no other option but to close as her landlord wanted her out of the building.
News 12 reached out to the management company who said the landlord was out of the office and unavailable for comment.
