Police: Suspect in wheelchair wanted in fatal shooting of Bronx man
Police are looking for a gunman in a wheelchair and one other man seen at the time of a fatal shooting of a Bronx man, according to investigators.
Kevin Thomas, 28, was found shot several times at the intersection of 350 East 143rd St. near Willis Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.
Police say he was shot multiple times in the torso and transported to Lincoln Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. A growing memorial was set up outside Thomas's home Monday.
Karrie Thomas, the victim's sister, says her brother was a big inspiration in her life, and that he called her right before he was shot and killed, but that she was asleep.
She says she got another call at 2 a.m. from police, who told her Thomas had been killed.
Police have released surveillance images of two men they say are connected to the shooting. According to police, the man in the wheelchair is believed to be the gunman, and the other man his accomplice.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
