Police released surveillance video Tuesday of a man they say sexually assaulted and violently attacked a 15-year-old girl after meeting her at a subway station in the Bronx.
It happened around 4:30 a.m. Monday inside Bronx River Park near Bronx Boulevard and East 213th Street.
Sources say the girl was coming home from a friend's house in Staten Island when she got off the train at the Gun Hill Road subway station and met a man.
Police say the two walked together to the park where the man attacked and sexually assaulted her.
Police say the man sexually assaulted the girl and kicked her in the head causing significant damage and knocking some of her teeth out.
Investigators believe the girl fought hard against the man, but in the end was overpowered.
The girl was found about an hour after the attack and transported to Montefiore Medical Center in stable condition.
Police are looking for the suspect who is described as being approximately 25 years old and 5'10" with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black Champion hooded sweatshirt bearing the "C" logo, blue jeans, gray Timberland boots and black gloves.
