Bronx school principal inspires young track stars with NYC marathon run
A Baychester middle school principal from the Bronx is inspiring young track students at his school by running the New York City Marathon.
Sean Mangar, of the Bronx, created the track team last year at the school and now he's giving many of the students in the program a reason to keep running.
"When you go out on your run today, I want you to think, 'What's my goal?'" Mangar told a group of track students getting ready to practice.
On Saturday, the students will get a taste of the marathon atmosphere by running the last small leg of the race across the finish line.
"It's crazy, but it's super exciting," one student says. "He's really inspiring me I'm thinking, because I really like track, I would like to run that far one day too."
