First medical marijuana dispensary opens in the Bronx

The first medical marijuana dispensary in the Bronx opened Monday.

PharmaCannis on 405 Hunts Point Ave. stocks vapor pens and tinctures for people undergoing treatment for cancer, HIV/AIDS, epilepsy or other conditions approved by the state.

Pharmacists are also arguing that cannabis can help patients get off of addictive drugs like opioids.

Facility officials say there will be high security, including multiple doors and locks to enter certain areas.

The store will be open Monday through Saturday. It will be among 20 marijuana dispensaries around the state.
