Bronx Muslim community reacts to Trump’s presidential win
The Muslim community in Parkchester is speaking out about President-elect Donald Trump and his proposed ban on Muslims entering the U.S.
Many at the Masjid Aliman Mosque are thinking of ways to stay safe in the community and have mixed feelings about Trump taking office in January.
"He's spreading this hate all over the society," says Nazarul Haque, of the Bangladeshi Immigrant Community Council. "As a Muslim, I'm not just worrying about it, I'm collectively worrying about the community, about the American spirit. We're all in danger with this madness."
Members of the community say they will be meeting with elected officials and local leaders to discuss how they can move forward in unity.
