Man accused of stealing $2K, jewelry from Bronx apartment

Police are looking for a man who stole thousands of dollars and jewelry from inside a Bronx apartment.

It happened on Nov. 6 at an apartment building at the intersection of Watson and Evergreen avenues.

Police say the 56-year-old victim had just returned home around 5 p.m. when she discovered her apartment had been broken into and ransacked.

Police say the thief got away with $2,000 and assorted jewelry.

Officials have released surveillance images of the suspect, who they say used the building's fire escape to gain entry inside.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
