Police look for suspect in deadly hit-and-run

Police are looking for a driver who fatally struck a 72-year-old man at the intersection of Nereid and Richardson avenues Thursday.

Officials say the victim, Orlando Savino, was crossing the street when a black Ford came through, hit him and kept going.

The NYPD has posted signs across the neighborhood reminding everyone about the deadly hit-and-run and asking for anyone with information to call them.

The President of RAIN, who runs the Nereid Senior Center, says Savino really anchored himself there over the past six years of his life. He says the members of the senior center are shocked at the loss.

The senior center is working on setting up a memorial to honor Savino.
