Riverdale residents help homeless families in need

The Riverdale community came together over the weekend to make packages for homeless families in the area.

Volunteers spent their Sunday putting the baskets together to deliver to local shelters.

School supplies like backpacks, pencils, pens and notebooks were included, as well as everyday necessities like shampoo and conditioner.

Both parents and kids say giving back is also a reminder for them to be thankful for what they have, especially as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches.
