Prosecutor: Man in 2015 Halloween crash missed seizure meds
The Bronx man charged in an accident that killed three people last Halloween, including a 10-year-old girl, left the Bronx Hall of Justice free on bail Tuesday, but the judge ordered Howard Unger to surrender his driver's license.
Prosecutors say Unger allegedly drove his car while knowing he had not taken his seizure medication. His lawyer denies that accusation.
Unger faces three counts of criminally negligent homicide, manslaughter and assault in connection with a crash that killed three trick-or-treaters.
Police say Unger's vehicle jumped the sidewalk and plowed into a group of people on Morris Park Avenue, killing 10-year-old Nyanna Aquil, her grandfather Louis Perez, and 24-year-old Kristjan Leka.
Unger is due back on court Jan. 31.
