Nonprofit cooks Thanksgiving meal for Bronx foster children

A nonprofit group provided children in the Bronx with a hot Thanksgiving meal Thursday.

Nonprofit group Young People for Young People hosted a holiday meal for about 200 foster children in the Asmara Ballroom.

The food provided at the event was cooked by a young man who had gone through the foster system himself.

The meal was the first Thanksgiving event hosted by the organization, and organizers say they hope to make it an annual tradition.

The group will also be hosting a Christmas event next month.
