Hostos students raise awareness on World AIDS Day

Students at Hostos Community College helped raise awareness Thursday about HIV and AIDS on World AIDS Day.

The students spent the day teaching others about HIV and AIDS. Students also received free STD tests and were given general check-ups. They learned about the dangers of unprotected sex and what to do if they test positive for any type of STD.

"We like to do this every year to get the word out and to reduce the amount of HIV transmissions in the Bronx," says Fabian Wandar of Hostos Community College.

Students made sure to let others know that protection is key in stopping the transmission of the disease.
