Memorial service held for Bronx hit-and-run victim

Friends and family of a fatal hit-and-run victim gathered Monday night to remember their loved one.

Those who gathered at the memorial service for 72-year-old Orlando Savino say he was generally happy and rarely complained, even while he was in pain going to dialysis twice a week.

Savino was struck and killed by a black Ford on Nov. 17 at the intersection of Nereid and Richardson avenues.

Anyone with information about the suspected car involved in the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
