The suspect accused in the fatal hit-and-run in Brooklyn that took the life of a popular Spanish radio DJ has turned himself over to police Friday, the NYPD has confirmed.
Kevin Ozoria, 27, of New York, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and tampering with physical evidence, police say.
Police say the Ozoria turned himself in at the 75th Precinct Friday afternoon.
He is accused in the death of Jean Paul Guerrero,39, of Harlem, who police say was fatally struck by a car early Monday morning after leaving a Brooklyn nightclub where he was performing.
DJ Jinx Paul worked at the radio station Mega 97.9, owned by Spanish Broadcasting System and based in midtown Manhattan.
The news of the Ozoria's surrender to police comes the same day as Guerrero's funeral.
Guerrero's family says they plan on burying their son in Ecuador.
