FDNY: 2-alarm fire destroys auto body repair shop, damages cars
A two-alarm fire badly damaged a Bronx auto body repair shop and several cars inside of it Wednesday, fire officials say.
The fire started at the Bronx Network Transmission and General Repair shop on Boston Road in Eastchester around 4:30 a.m.
Police say they were alerted to the fire by a security guard who saw heavy smoke coming from the building. Between two and three cars were destroyed in the fire, according to officials.
At least 90 firefighters worked to put out the blaze.
Officials say no one was inside the building at the time of the fire and that they are investigating the cause.
