Robber pistol-whipped woman, dragged her by the hair inside Bronx apartment

A 43-year-old woman was pistol-whipped in the face and dragged by her hair by a robber inside her Bronx apartment, police say.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday inside an apartment building on Pilot Street.

Police say the woman received a buzz from a person claiming to have a package for her inside the lobby of the building.

No one was there when she walked down the stairs. Police say the woman walked back up the stairs to her apatment and was greeted by a man holding a gun and wearing a skull mask that covered his face.

Police say the man grabbed the woman by her hair and dragged her into the bedroom before hitting her in the face with the butt of the gun.

They say the suspect stole two small deposit safes from the woman's bedroom before ordering her to lay on the ground until he left. The safes contained cash and personal documents.

Police say the woman suffered a small cut just above her eye but refused medical attention at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
