Handbag drive held to benefit homeless women

A salon on East Gun Hill Road is helping to provide feminine care for the homeless to ring in the new year.

Diva Face Cares, a nonprofit group, helped organize a drive to collect handbags and toiletries for the homeless alongside Eternal Beauty of New York Salon.

The groups say they hope to help at least 100 homeless women this year.

The collected items will be donated to shelters or handed out personally by the organizers.
