Residents say Bronx intersection still dangerous despite new upgrades
More than a year after the Department of Transportation installed a traffic circle at Dawson Street and Intervale Avenue in the Bronx to increase pedestrian safety, some residents say it's still not enough.
Joe Black, the super of a local building near the intersection says he's complained to the city about the dangers of crossing the street.
Black says even though the city installed a traffic circle to help keep pedestrians safe, cars still do not slow down.
He says he has a friend who is visually impaired and wants the city to install a stop sign at the Longwood intersection.
The DOT was not immediately available for comment.
