Doctors urge vaccination amid flu's early arrival
Medical professionals in New York City say the flu virus is making an unseasonably early appearance, and that getting the vaccine for it is now much more important.
The illness usually peaks in February.
The nasal vaccine is not recommended this year, as doctors say they believe it could be less effective.
It takes seven days for the vaccine to fully absorb into the body.
The vaccine is available at health providers across the city.
