A suspect is accused of beating a 50-year-old man with a broomstick inside the lobby of a Bronx building, police say.

The incident happened Monday inside of a building on Boston Road and Union Avenue around 8 a.m.

Police say the suspect entered the building and attacked the victim, who lives there.

The suspect removed the man's wallet from his pants, but ran away after finding it was empty.

They say the victim suffered bruising and a cut to his head. He was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital where he was treated and later released.
