Dead baby found in Harlem shelter

An unconscious 6-month-old boy was discovered in the lobby of a Manhattan drug treatment center Tuesday afternoon, police say.

He was rushed to a hospital around 1:15 p.m. and pronounced dead.

Police say the child showed no signs of trauma.

A spokeswoman for the Odyssey House in Harlem, where the baby was found, says the shelter houses about 60 mothers with children up 6 years old.
