Police charge Bronx man in connection to deadly Allerton crash

Police say they have charged a Bronx man in connection to a deadly multi-car accident in Allerton in which the suspect fled the scene on foot, leaving one of his passengers to die. 



Tanbir Islam, 21, of the Bronx, is facing multiple charges, including, manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and driving under the influence. 



The crash happened Thursday at the intersection of Boston Road and Barnes Avenue around 9:55 p.m.



Police say Christopher Hulse, 21, of the Bronx, was pronounced dead at the hospital after a 1997 Toyota Camry, operated by Islam crashed into a minivan.



At least five other people were injured in the crash. Police say Islam fled the scene on foot after the crash, but was later arrested at Jacobi Medical Center. 



All of the surviving victims of the crash are in stable condition, according to police.
