Vandals shatter almost 30 windows with marbles

An MTA bus and at least 28 Bronx establishments, including an Applebee's restaurant, have reported that vandals shot out their windows with marbles, police say.

The incidents ranged from Throgs Neck to Mott Haven and eventually Fordham Road Saturday night in the span of just two hours, beginning around 7:15 p.m., according to authorities.

Also targeted were a Burger King, Dunkin' Donuts, White Castle, the Tremont East Diner, a grocery store and a barbershop.

Surveillance video shows a white, four-door sedan with tinted windows that police say was carrying the suspects. They allegedly used a slingshot or air gun to fire off marbles.

Police say no one was injured.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
