NYPD links 2nd car to string of smashed windows

Police say they're seeking a second car in connection with the vandals who launched marbles through almost 30 windows across the borough over the weekend.

The crimes began Friday night, but most of the destruction happened Saturday in the span of two hours, beginning around 7:15 p.m., police say.

Investigators earlier used surveillance video to link a white sedan with tinted windows to the vandalism. After reviewing more cameras, they say they are now also seeking a dark-colored SUV.

Police say the suspects shot marbles through the windows of at least 28 businesses and an MTA bus.

The targets included restaurants and fast food places like Applebee's, Kennedy Fried Chicken, McDonald's and the Tremont East Diner; and retail stores like Target and AutoZone; barbershops and a supermarket.

Police say the vandals caused thousands of dollars in damage.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
