Pizza, the NY staple, celebrated nationally

This week is National Pizza Week, and there are more than 100 pizzerias in the Bronx where residents can celebrate.



Yolanda's Italian Restaurant in the Hub, a family-owned business, is one of them.



Yolanda's has served its pies to both locals and celebrities for 50 years.



Experts say pizza originated in Naples, Italy, where it was cooked with inexpensive foods that could be eaten quickly. The addition of tomato sauce didn't come until the mid-16th century, when Spanish conquistadors brought the first tomatoes to Europe from Peru.
