Puerto Ricans wrap up holiday season in Kingsbridge

Puerto Ricans in one Bronx community officially wrapped up the holiday season with a big celebration this weekend.

The "parranda," or party, was celebrated up and down the streets of Kingsbridge, complete with music and food.

It is a traditional walking celebration to spread holiday cheer, which typically begins in November and ends in mid-January.

Despite the cold temperature, participants continued celebrating in the streets, stopping from store to store for a total of two hours.

Many told News 12 they enjoyed seeing the tradition, which is common in Puerto Rico, taking place in the Bronx.
